The TPJ Racing Team headed north to Oakland, Ca for round 4 of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross.
Austin Politelli qualified 23rd overall during the day sessions. He had another phenomenal Heat race performance; his 9th place finish transferred him straight into the main event. Austin ended up 22nd in the Main Event. He currently sits 27th in the points standings with 3 points. Austin looks forward to heading down south to San Diego and hope to place within the top 15.
Ben Lamay’s day started with him tweaking his leg during one of the day qualifying sessions. Even with the pain, he rode to a 17th qualifying position. In 450SX Heat 2, Ben battled with teammate Politelli and barely missed a transfer spot by 1 place. In the LCQ he tried to push through the pain, but ultimately finished 17th. Ben looks forward to spending the week working on therapy for his leg and training for the race this weekend. Ben sits in 21st place in the Championship with 14 points.
Our 250SX class riders, Mason and Blaine have been riding neck and neck all season long. Oakland was no different. Mason qualified 33rd, while Blaine qualified 34th. In Heat 2 Mason placed 20th, and Blaine with an unfortunate and gnarly crash on lap 1 placed 20th in Heat 1. Blaine made it back out for the LCQ where he finished 18th; just one spot ahead of Mason. Both riders have done extremely well so far this season and are continuing to hone in their skills every time they throw their legs over the bike. We look forward to seeing great things from them both in the future. After San Diego, these boys will have 3 weeks off while the series heads East.
Jimmy Weeks secured enough points during the Supercross Futures events to gain his Professional Racing License and will make his Supercross debut in Minneapolis, MN on February 9th as the newest TPJ Racing 250SX East Coast Rider!
