The TPJ Fly Racing team travelled to the world-famous Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL to compete at Monster Energy Supercross.
Ted Parks and the TPJ Crew had a great weekend with fans at the Daytona Pit Party. The TPJ Racing 2018 Bike Giveaway was a popular attraction for fans, the good-looking bike stopped hundreds of on-lookers. TPJ Racing riders Ben Lamay, John Short and Dylan Merriam were on site to compete and had a great time chatting with TPJ Racing fans and signing autographs during our rider meet and greet session.
All three of our athletes managed to qualify for the night show in Daytona. Ben Lamay qualified in 22nd, and Dylan Merriam followed close behind in 24th, while John Short qualified 17th in the 250 division.
For the last few rounds, Lamay has struggled with torn tendons in his hand and thumb. The injury makes it difficult for him to hold on to his bike, but he continues to qualify for night shows and main events to pick up valuable championship points. Despite the pain, Lamay went on to finish 20th overall in the 450 division.
Short also qualified for the main event in the 250 division, after battling through a chaotic start and the unique track conditions, Short was able to lock-in an 18th place finish overall.
While the team continues to battle obstacles, we also continue to grow – thanks in part to the support of our sponsors as well as the dedication of our athletes. We are proud of their continued progress and grit.
This week, we turn our attention to St. Louis, where we will give it another go. We are looking forward to seeing our Midwest fans at the Pit Party this Saturday.
