SEASON WINDS DOWN, PIPES INJURED
As the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series comes to a close, the TPJ Fly Racing Suzuki team headed for Maryland to compete at the Budd’s Creek Motocross National. The massive track featured unique geography and was a perfect layout for the thousands of spectators who showed up for Saturday’s racing action.

Even though he experienced extreme discomfort throughout the first moto, he charged on and finished 31st after his crash. Throughout the day the pain continued to escalate, but Pipes pushed through the final moto. After the races this weekend, Pipes viisited the doctor for an official word, and we regret to inform the fans that Pipes has suffered damaged ligaments and a chipped bone in his ankle, as well as breaking his third metacarpal in his foot. Pipes will not be racing the final round, and will focus on healing and recovering.
We are very proud of Dustin Pipes’ performance this season and his continued dedication to progression week after week — as well as pushing through his final race despite his injuries.
TPJ Racing rider Nick Schmidt also made it out to compete at Budd’s Creek this weekend. While he looked strong in practice, the extreme heat that came later in the day took a toll on Schmidt’s performance. He went 39-34 for 39th place overall.
The TPJ Racing team has arrived on site for the Ironman National in Crawfordsville, IN. We look forward to seeing race fans this weekend at the final round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series.
